Winter Gardens
What’s an English Winter without wrapping up in every layer you can get your mitts on and venturing out into the crisp air? Blow away the cobwebs with an invigorating walk through the beautiful Hampshire countryside – perhaps around Alresford and stop by Long Barn to warm up.
In Winter, gardens take on a mysterious form. Whether you are drawn to the abstract shapes of the topiary, the base architectural details of trees or the natural mess of a meadow full of seed heads, there is beauty in every garden at this time of year.
Gardening is an ever-changing process, so we often decide to do new things or try a new way. The new year, when there’s time to reflect on the previous year, and the pace of work in the garden eases off, is an excellent opportunity to think carefully about what to do next.
