Allpress Coffee
For coffee lovers looking to swerve ubiquitous chains, an increasing number of independent coffee places will give you an infinitely tastier cup, and more than likely save you money.
Luckily, we are awash with great coffee locally, but that has not always been the case. We remember a time when it was nearly impossible even to get a flat white in these parts. Nevertheless, Hampshire’s caffeine scene has caught up. It is thriving, with every corner of the county seemingly gifted its speciality coffee emporia, brewing sustainably sourced and ethical beans from growers around the globe.
Our first choice, Allpress, is the best, but then we would say that! The eponymous Michael Allpress founded his roasters in an Auckland garage in 1989. The name is shorthand for top-tier beans; they’re ground in over 1,500 indie cafés worldwide, including own-brand outlets in NZ, Japan, Singapore, Australia, and the UK.
Allpress has been roasting speciality coffee for over three decades now. The precision of their Air Roasting allows them to take coffee to the edge of flavour development while keeping the roast clean and sweet. As a result, the taste is as complete, round and chocolatey as it gets. With a focus on consistency, Allpress Espresso has become an icon, instantly recognisable in over 1500 independent cafes worldwide, and we’re proud to be part of that history.
Whether you like your coffee slow-dripped, ice-cold or pretty for Instagram (yes, really), look no further – our Cafe is one of the hottest coffee spots for miles. Popular with bearded and beanie-wearing hipsters, as with elegant ladies who lunch, it’s truly the only choice for anyone who loves coffee as much as we do.
If you fancy buying some of our Allpress beans for drinking-coffee-at-home purposes, let us know what method you’ll use to make it (cafetière, filter, etc.), and we’ll point you in the right direction, so you’ll be able to sip the same creamy cappuccinos at home with ease.
